Can I apply?

You can apply for a grant if:

• You are the parent/carer of a child aged between 0 and 24
• You are the parent/carer of a child with a disability or serious illness
• The child is not in the care of the local authority or in foster care
• You have lived in the UK for the past six months
• You are on a low income or receiving benefits

What do I need?

As part of your application you will need to upload some supporting documents. It’s good to have these to hand when you start. We will need to see documents about:

Your income

Either:

• a copy of your most recent benefit award letter, or
• your last three months of payslips.

Your child

• your child’s disability benefits
• their support learning plan
• any reports detailing the additional support your disabled or seriously ill child receives.

How do I apply?

Applying through our online application form is the quickest way to make an application.

If you’re not able to apply online, you can download an application pack to print, complete, and post back to us.

If you are unable to print the form at home, you can request an application pack to be posted to you. You should receive this within 10 working days.

If you are submitting an application for more than one child, you’ll also need to complete additional child form (one per sibling you wish to include in your application).
